Vinh Phuc is bordered by four provinces and cities: by Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang provinces to the North (the boundary is Tam Dao and Sang Son Mountain Range), by Phu Tho province to the West (with Lo is river being the natural boundary), by Hanoi to the south (the natural boundary is the Red River, and by Soc Son and Dong Anh districts to the East.

Natural resources: Vinh Phuc has a large forest area, especially Tam Dao forest with various and diversified resources: 260 types of timbers and plants including precious wood such as Fokienia and valuable medical plants. Besides, there are several rare and precious mineral found in the province such as tin, gold and others with large reserves used for construction material production such as sand, stone, limestone, construction rock, granite stone (50 million m3) but they are mainly found in tourism spots and Tam

Traffic: The system is convenient with roadway, railway and waterway. Besides, the province is situated near Noi Bai International Airport. Water system: The system is quite complete meeting the demand of households and production. There are two 110 kV transformer stations, one in Vinh Yen with the capacity of 65,000 KVA, the other in Phuc Yen with the capacity of 40,000 KVA.
