Thanh Hoa province is located in North Central Vietnam. The province is the gateway connecting the North and the Centre of Vietnam, 155km south of Hanoi, 1,560km from Ho Chi Minh city. The local traffic system is convenient, including: railways, Highway 1A, Ho Chi Minh Road linking the North and the South of Vietnam; Highway no.10, no.45, no.47 connecting Thanh Hoa with neighbor provinces; Highway no.217, the trans-Asia axis in the East-West corridor, linking Thanh Hoa and other Asean countries via Laos; Nghi Son deep seaport can accommodate ships of 30,000 to 50,000 DWT; the river system is convenient for both regional and international transport
The road network of total 8,000km in length includes important national highway such as: National Highway 1A; Highway 10 running through the plains and coastal areas; the strategic road 15A; HoChiMinh highway running through the midland and mountainous area; Highway 45, 47 connecting coastal plains district with the mountainous and midland areas of province. ThanhHoa province has 1,600 km of waterway, of which 487 km has been exploited for ships having capacity from 20 to 1,000 DWT. North-South railroad running through the ThanhHoa province is of 92km long with 9 stations, facilitating the transportation of goods and passengers.
