Ninh Binh is a province in the south of Red River Delta and located in the key economic region of the North, 80 km away from Hanoi. The north of Ninh Binh is adjacent to Ha Nam, the north east is adjacent to Nam Dinh, the south east is adjacent to East Sea, the west and south west is adjacent to Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa. 

Natural resources: In general, Ninh Binh has different kinds of soil located in different regions such as: coastal plains whose levels are raised by silts have potentiality for developing aquaculture especially shrimps and crabs for export, industrial crops such as reed; Waterlogged plains are suitable for intensive cultivation of paddy, subsidiary crops, short term industrial crops, fruits, vegetables, beans, etc. Half-hilly and mountainous areas whose soils are mainly peralitic formed on the spot and on weathere

Travel resources: Ninh Binh has great potential for developing tourism such as Tam Coc – Bich Dong tourism center, Hoa Lu ancient capital, tourism spot in the center of Ninh Binh town including Duc Thuy Son, Ngoc My Nhan, Ky Lan lake; Cuc Phuong National Park, Ky Phu, Dong Chuong lake; Kenh Ga hot water stream, Van Trinh, Van Long cavern, Dinh Long pagoda; Tam Diep – Bien Son ancient defense line; Yen Dong lake in Yen Thang, Ma Tien cavern, Than Phu gate; Phat Diem stone church and Kim Son coastal area.

Traffic: The province has quite developed transportation system with railway, roadway and waterway, creating a convenient condition for goods exchanges in the province and with other areas nationwide and worldwide. In terms of roads, National Road No 1A, 10, 12B and 45 run through the province, besides that, there are three highway projects which are Ninh Binh –Cau Giem Ninh Binh – Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh – Hai Phong planned to construct in Ninh Binh. Power system: Investment has been put into upgrading transmission networks, constructing 4 new 100 KV stations in Nho Quan, Kim Son, Tam Diep and Ninh Binh towns.

Post and Telecommunication Systems: There is a digital switchboard connecting approx. 12,000 telephones in post offices in towns and districts. Telecommunication system has been developed quickly in both size and quality with modern technology (satellites, optical cables).

Up to now, Ninh Binh has 75 FDI projects with the total investment capital is nearly 1.6 billion US dollars.
