Forum seeks to expand business and investment opportunities for Vietnam, Georgia
The Vietnam-Georgia Business Forum was co-hosted in Georgia on the afternoon of October 12 (local time) by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as part of the official visit to Georgia by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.
The event gathered representatives from Georgia’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development alongside local business executives. The Vietnamese delegation included Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang, Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Georgia Nguyen Thanh Le, and representatives from major corporations managing investment projects across former Soviet states.
Addressing the forum, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili expressed honor in receiving the first high-level Vietnamese delegation to visit Georgia, led by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan. He welcomed the forum as an initial step toward building closer business ties between the two countries, creating expanded trade and investment opportunities. In 2025, bilateral trade between Georgia and Vietnam grew significantly compared to the previous year, exceeding US$192 million.
For Vietnamese enterprises, Georgia can serve as a regional base to access broader markets, given its position connecting the South Caucasus, Central Asia, and China to European markets via the Black Sea. The Georgian government places special emphasis on priority sectors with strong potential for cooperation, including manufacturing, logistics infrastructure, renewable energy, tourism and hospitality, as well as information and communications technology (ICT) and business process outsourcing (BPO).
For her part, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang welcomed the networking event as a timely occasion to assess untapped potential and business opportunities between the two nations.
To realize these prospects, she outlined key orientations for both business communities to discuss and develop, emphasizing that strengthening transport infrastructure and logistics connectivity serves as the primary catalyst to boost trade and tourism while expanding cooperation in infrastructure, technology, and urban development investments.

She said that the presence of multi-industry conglomerates such as ROX, TNT, and Vingroup at the forum demonstrates their determination to explore investment opportunities in Georgia, contributing to the country’s infrastructure and urban modernization.
Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang reaffirmed that the Vietnamese government always creates favorable conditions to protect the legitimate rights and interests of foreign investors, including Georgian businesses in Vietnam. She expressed hope that the Georgian government and relevant agencies will continue providing legal and administrative support to facilitate effective investment projects by Vietnamese companies in Georgia.
At the forum, representatives of major Vietnamese corporate investors in the region presented their operational strengths, objectives, and investment strategies to Georgian officials and executives.
Their completed and ongoing projects across several countries in the region demonstrate the capacity and strategic vision of Vietnamese enterprises regarding the role of the "Middle Corridor."
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan’s visit has made an initial step for cooperation between the business communities of Georgia and Vietnam. Both sides need to capitalize on this momentum to establish new commercial ties and develop bilateral investment projects, thereby contributing to each country’s economy and overall Vietnam-Georgia relations.
