This direction was emphasized during a recent working session between a provincial delegation and the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan.

"During their working trip to Japan, the Dak Lak delegation, led by Tu Thai Giang, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Council, held talks with the Vietnamese Embassy, where they were received by Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu and embassy officials.

The province's new development space encompasses both highlands and coastal regions. The western area boasts strengths in coffee and agricultural products such as pepper, durian, rubber, and macadamia, while the eastern area features coastline, seaports, fisheries, and potential for tourism, the marine economy, and logistics.

Dak Lak currently hosts 7 direct Japanese investment projects with total registered capital of approximately US$29.5 million. The locality aims to increase both the quantity and quality of Japanese projects in the coming period, prioritizing ventures equipped with technology that generate value-added and foster linkages with local enterprises and residents.

To achieve this goal, the province asked the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan to provide advisory support on investment trends, requirements, and location selection criteria of Japanese enterprises, as well as to help introduce the province's investment environment and project portfolio to Japanese corporations, businesses, associations, and investors.

The locality also expressed its desire for the embassy to facilitate connections with Japanese enterprises, corporations, trade associations, and localities whose strengths align with Dak Lak's development orientation, while supporting the promotion of the province's agricultural products, OCOP items, processed goods, and specialty products in the Japanese market.

Praising Dak Lak's proactive initiative in organizing an early delegation to Japan to promote trade, connect, and seek cooperation opportunities following the implementation of the two-tier local government model, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu urged specialized agencies within the embassy to continue assisting Dak Lak in connecting with Japanese businesses, organizations, and partners, while advising the province on cooperation strategies, trends, and sectors of interest to Japan.

During the trip, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan connected the Dak Lak delegation with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the ASEAN-Japan Centre to explore cooperation demand, introduce potential, and expand relations with Japanese partners.
