World’s biggest oil company interested in Vietnamese market
Aramco, the world's largest oil and gas firm, is interested in and expects to seek investment opportunities in Viet Nam, said Executive Vice President of Aramco Yasser M.Mufti.
Yasser M.Mufti told Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Riyadh capital of Saudi Arabia on October 19 as the Prime Minister was there to attend the first Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit.
Mr. Yasser M.Mufti said he wants to study Vietnamese market for any possible investment opportunity, especially in building petrochemical refinery plants.
Prime Minister Pham suggested that Aramco invest in Viet Nam’s oil and gas sector, especially major petrochemical projects, and cooperate in trade of oil, gas, and petrochemical products such as crude oil, liquefied gas, plastics, and fertilizer.
The Vietnamese Government leader also called on the Saudi business giant to help enable the Viet Nam Oil and Gas Group to participate in supplying oil and gas services in Saudi Arabia.
Last year, Saudi Aramco reported a record US$161 billion (£134 billion) profit for 2022, the largest annual profit ever recorded by an oil and gas company, fueled by soaring energy prices and rising global demand./.
