Vietnamese businesses to explore trade, investment opportunities in Africa
A Vietnamese trade and investment promotion mission will visit South Africa and Tanzania from September 30 to October 10, giving businesses an opportunity to assess market demand, connect with local partners and explore new distribution channels.
The mission will be organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the occasion of a high-level delegation of the National Assembly of Vietnam visiting and working in South Africa and attending the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-153) in Tanzania.
The programme is designed to help Vietnamese businesses gain first-hand knowledge of African markets, assess wholesale and retail distribution channels, and better understand consumer demand, preferences and the potential for Vietnamese goods.
The mission will also promote public-private cooperation and facilitate engagement with government agencies and trade promotion organisations in the two countries to update businesses on policies, address market barriers and create more favourable conditions for trade.
According to the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, during the trip Vietnamese businesses plan to connect with local companies and hold direct meetings with manufacturers, importers, exporters and investors to seek business partners and expand their markets.
They will survey and work with a number of wholesale and retail distribution channels in South Africa and Tanzania. It will also meet with trade promotion agencies and businesses involved in manufacturing, import-export and investment in the two countries.
They will participate in the Vietnam-Tanzania Business Forum, providing an opportunity for businesses to exchange information and explore cooperation with Tanzanian partners.
The mission will also make use of activities on the sidelines of IPU-153 to promote Vietnam’s trade and investment environment and expand business connections with African partners.
