KinderWorld to develop Singapore International School in Haiphong
KinderWorld Vietnam won an auction on January 12 for the 3.04 hectare site for the proposed Singapore International School in Le Chan district of the northern port city of Haiphong.
According to Decision No.332, issued by the Haiphong People’s Committee on February 1, KinderWorld Vietnam has been recognised as the legal winner of the land auction for a multilevel school site. The auction was organised by Haiphong city and Le Chan district authorities and marks KinderWorld Vietnam's first project in Vietnam's third-largest city.
The site was acquired with a 50-year land lease agreement of VND9.15 billion ($373,120) per annum, reflecting the competitive nature of the auction for such a prime location. Upon completion, the school will offer educational programmes from preschool to high school, with an expected capacity of 1,500 students. It will be one of KinderWorld's flagship international school campuses in Vietnam, featuring a smart campus with world-class facilities catered for a future-ready learning environment.
Ricky Tan, chairman of KinderWorld International Group met with Le Tien Chau, party secretary of Haiphong in July last year to propose potential education investments in the city. Notable attendees at this meeting included Le Khac Nam, vice chairman of the Haiphong People’s Committee, and various other directors and representatives from different departments and agencies.
