Ninh Thuan Industrial Zones Management Board awarded an investment registration certificate to Dalat Worsted Spinning Company (DWS) on September 28 for its dyeing and weaving factory located in Du Long Industrial Park (IP).

The project follows an investment of VND638 billion ($27 million) and the site will have a production capacity of up to 4,500 tonnes of fabric per year. DWS is a subsidiary of German yarn maker Suedwolle Group.

Suedwolle Group is a manufacturer of natural sheep wool fibres that dates back to 1966 and the company has production and storage facilities in eight countries, including Vietnam. In addition, Suedwolle has two dyeing factories in China and Germany.

The group currently employs more than 3,200 personnel in production facilities and sales offices worldwide, including Hong Kong, New Zealand, South Africa, and the US.

The group commenced production in Vietnam in 2019, and it owns two projects in Dalat and Du Long IP.

The Du Long IP spans over 400 hectares and boasts a prime location along National Highway 1A. It is adjacent to the North-South railway and is close to the North-South expressway at the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao intersection.

The IP is situated just 40km away from Cam Ranh International Airport, 25km away from Cam Ranh International Seaport, and 45km away from Ca Na International Seaport. There will be a railway line planned for the future.

Furthermore, Ninh Thuan has abundant wind and solar energy resources, ensuring uninterrupted operations for factories and IPs in the area.

This year alone, Du Long IP has welcomed three new projects with investments worth over VND1 trillion ($42 million).

Investors can be assured of the advanced environmental protection technologies in the IP, including rainwater drainage and wastewater treatment systems with a maximum capacity of 12,000 cubic metres per day.

This year alone, Du Long IP has welcomed three new projects with investments worth over VND1 trillion ($42 million).

These include a garment factory with a production capacity of 20 million products per year, a children's toy manufacturing factory with a production capacity of 6 million products per year, and the aforementioned dyeing and weaving project.

Du Long IP has previously attracted numerous domestic and international investors to establish operations there, and the developer has been proactive in completing infrastructure, with investors being offered attractive land rental rates.

Operating factories in Du Long IP

Hoang Ve Dung, chairman of the Board of Directors of Du Long IP, spoke of his vision for the future when he said, “Our desire is to attract investment and to establish a new green supply chain in Ninh Thuan. For example, Suedwolle Group dyes its fabrics in Ninh Thuan, which are then transported to Dalat for further processing into linen fabric."

“We want to attract investment for the entire processing chain, from wool processing to fibre stretching and fabric weaving, here in Ninh Thuan. This approach will optimise production costs and enhance the value of the garments and textiles supply chain in Vietnam. This ultimately creates additional tax revenue and jobs for the people of Ninh Thuan,” Dung added.
