With this investment, AkzoNobel aims to increase its total production capacity to respond to global business partners' demands and strengthen its market position in Asia.

The major capacity expansion project for producing Powder Coatings and Water borne coatings for the Consumer Electronics market, includes five new lines for Powder, and one water-borne facility for Consumer Electrics

As well as increasing capacity, the total approx. €18.5 million ($20 million) expansion also sharpened the company’s focus on sustainable manufacturing in the Vietnamese market and in the region.

In the context of Vietnam's increasing appeal to manufacturing and global original equipment manufacturer (OEM) companies, AkzoNobel's expansion of its Powder Coatings and Consumer Electronics capacity through these new production lines will ensure that the products meet and exceed industry standards.

Jeff Jirak, managing director of AkzoNobel’s Powder Coatings said, "Vietnam is increasingly becoming a destination for global businesses. Investing in five additional modern production lines at the Bac Ninh site, the company anticipates providing better services and paving the way for a sustainable future, particularly in the northern part of Vietnam."

"Furthermore, by allowing the Dong Nai site to focus on supporting volume growth in the Southern region of Vietnam, AkzoNobel can optimise its manufacturing processes to meet the diverse needs of the Vietnamese market.”

This investment is evidence of our confidence in Vietnam's potential and a strong signal of our continuous support for the region's development.”
